CLEO KIRKLAND

Cleo Kirkland, 80, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Jan. 23, 2012, in an Opelika nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Mon., Jan. 30, at Keahey Funeral Home, with burial following in Hopewell Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held Sunday night from 6 to 8 at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Ray and Bobbie Faye Kirkland of Andalusia; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Leamon Hurst of Andalusia and Mary Harrison of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Kirkland, Alan Kirkland, Gary Kirkland and Peewee Harrison.

 

THE REV. HAROLD L. CANNON

The Rev. Harold L. Cannon, 96, of Luverne, died Thurs., Jan. 26, 2012, at Crown Health Center in Greenville.

Graveside services will be held today, Sat., Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Highland Home with the Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

The Rev. Cannon retired as an engineer at L&N Railroad, graduated from Graceville, Fla., Bible College, and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church in Davenport.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Faye Cannon; three sons, HaroldLeroy Cannon, James Paul Cannon and Richard Cannon; stepdaughter, Leslie Henderson Hartley; and stepson, Archie Paul Shiver Jr.

He is survived by three daughters, Ruth Bayman (Kurt), Mary Elizabeth Tyus (Robert) and Glenda F. Singleton; great-granddaughter, Valerie Schofield (Josh); 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
