Elaine Tiller Wiley

Elaine Tiller Wiley, 66, of Andalusia died peacefully on Fri., Feb. 17, 2012, in the Andalusia Regional Hospital with all of her family (except one who lived too far to get here) and some friends right beside her.

Family members felt she was tired from her fight with COPD and gave up the fight to breathe.

She worked her last 12 years as manager of Foxwood Village Apartments and loved it very much. The tenants all seemed to love her, and she made many friends. She was a person who seemed to care and had compassion for their welfare.

Elaine knew there was no cure for her illness, so she planned her last days, and that was to have her body to be a gift to medical science to help others suffering from the disease.

A memorial service was held on Sat., Feb. 18, at West Highland Baptist Church where she has been a member all of her life, but had been unable to attend in the last few months.

The Rev. Larry Stewart officiated.

She is survived by her son, Brandon Wiley Gantt (Megan); daughters, Kim (John) Steele and Michelle (Shelton) Biggs; mother, Rosalyn Tiller; brother, Norman (Joyce) Tiller; and grandchildren, Autumn, Cierra and John Steele and Kari Biggs; great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Abbigail Gantt; step-grandchildren, Shannong (Angela) Biggs, and Amber (Nick) Casalinuovo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carey Tiller.
