Andy BOE hires teacher, coach

The Andalusia City Board of Education hired Victorian Adams as social studies teacher at AHS, replacing Marcus Taylor, who resigned. Taylor also was serving as head softball coach.

Teresa Herring, previously the assistant softball coach, was named head coach, and Brad Garner was named assistant coach.

The board also named Shena Odom child nutrition assistant manager, replacing former manager Bobby Richardson, who resigned.

In other business, the board named a textbook committee, including:

• From Andalusia Elementary School, Angie Cofield, Mary Dutton, Monica King, Dianne Chavers, Jenifer Earnest, Virginia Fussell, Lindsey Cross, and parents Marty Ashley Wise and Christy Worley.

• From Andalusia Middle School, Lynn Castleberry, Amy Bryan, Wendy Mathews, and parents Jeff Cross, Angie Nelson and Lou Flores.

• From Andalusia High School, Louise Anderson, Mary Francis Kelley, Nicole Jackson, Matt Johnson, and parents Kim Hopkins and Valarie McCalman.
