AJWC to present Academy Award-themed Red Garter show

The Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club is planning a red-carpet night for its 20th annual Red Garter Revue, set for next weekend, Fri. and Sat., March 2 and 3, at the LBWCC Dixon Center.

Johnny Brewer will serve as host for the Academy Award-themed event.

New this year will be the presentation of a lifetime achievement award.

Red Garter chairwoman Katie King said the AJWC plans to present the

award annually to an individual who’s exhibited exemplary lifetime achievement “in creating a passion for community and

expanding our imaginations.”

Individual performers include:

• Paula Sue Duebelt with Angie Sasser;

• Ted Watson;

• Sisters by Grace with Ricky Counts;

• Terri Jones and Janna McGlamory;

• Cathy and Roger Powell;

• Danny Posey; and,

• Jeff Sellers.

As always, there will be performances by the Ritz Crackers, including Parrish King, Shannon Glenn, Ben Bowden, Scott Riley, Jeff Hopkins, and Jeffery Douglas; and the Red Garter Dancers, who are AJWC members.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets $12 for general admission and $15 for reserved seating.

Tickets are available at Ansley Place, CCB, Harold’s, Mary Ann’s and the Chamber of Commerce, and from any AJWC member.

The AJWC is a non-profit organization that has been raising money for more than 37 years in this community, providing financial support for schools, charities and other organizations.
