Council agrees to close road

The Andalusia City Council Tuesday agreed to close a portion of Holley Road to facilitate the construction of a new CVS pharmacy on part of the property currently occupied by Barrow’s Furniture.

The council also:

• Approved quarterly payments to outside agencies totaling $34,425.

• Changed the time of its March 20 meeting to 5:30 p.m.

• Accepted the low bid of $4,814 from Rogers Refrigeration to replace the HVAC system at the fire department.

The council currently is taking applications for four openings on the Tourism and Relocation Committee.
