Opp faced a “quality team” in Class 1A Brantley on Tuesday night, and Bobcats coach Michael Cassady said it was good to see his team squeeze across two runs in the sixth inning in the 8-4 win.

“Brantley will be a team that will go far in the playoffs,” Cassady said. “I liked that we were able to put two runs on the board in the sixth inning.”

Opp scored four runs in the fourth inning on four hits to take a 6-2 lead.

Brantley answered with two runs in the fifth.

Ethan Davis earned the win for the Bobcats on the mound. He pitched 2.0 innings and allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one.

Trey Short also had some work on the mound, pitching 3.0 innings and allowed three hits, four strikeouts and no walks.

In hitting, T.J. Register was 3-for-3 with a double and two singles; Short was 2-for-3 with a double and a single; and Russell Moseley was 2-for-3 with a double and a single.
