Annual karaoke contest set for March 17

So you think you can sing? Organizers of the annual Rattlesnake Rodeo karaoke contest say, “prove it.”
The contest will be held March 17 at 7 p.m. at the Opp VFW.
Practice and registration will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. that day.
“All ages are welcome to enter or enjoy,” said Renee Hudson of the VFW. “All profits or donations will go to wounded soldiers and soldiers in need in our area.”
Entry fee is $20, and each contestant must bring their own CD and a minimum of three songs in the event there is a tie.
“No profanity or disrespect to our military, country or our flag will be permitted,” she said. “Come out and show your talents and bring your cheering squad.”
The winner receives $200 and performs at the Rattlesnake Rodeo, Sat., March 31; second place wins $150 and third place $50.
Hamburgers and hotdogs will be available.
