Rattlesnake 5K price goes up after Friday

More than 300 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the second Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo 5K run/walk, organizers said Tuesday.

The 5K costs $25 per runner until Fri., March 23, and the price includes a shirt and a rodeo armband included in the race pack.

After Friday’s date, the cost to participate in the race will go up to $35.

The overall male/female winners will received $50 each and a medal for winning the race.

Other categories where awards will be given include the male/female masters 40-and-over; the male/female grand masters 50-and-over; the male/female senior grand 60-and-over; and the male/female grand masters 70-and-over.

Additionally, the top five runners and walkers in age groups from 0-70+ will receive awards.

Those interested in participating can pick up a race pack and register by Fri., March 30, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Opp High School.

Packet pick-up and registration begins at 7:30 a.m. the day of the race.
