KLD tourney begins today at 8 a.m.

Straughn’s seventh annual Kirsten L. Dean Memorial Softball tournament will begin at 8 a.m. this morning at SHS.
The host team will face Andalusia in the first game of the day, and Red Level will play Opp at 9:30 a.m.
Kinston and Pleasant Home have first-round byes and will play at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively, against the winners of the first two games.
The tournament will also be held at LBWCC, where the first-round games of the loser’s bracket will be held.
All games have a 75-minute time limit and international tie-breaker rules apply. There will be no new innings after 70 minutes of play.
The semifinals of the winner’s bracket will be at 2 p.m. an the loser’s bracket championship game will be at around 5:30 p.m.
The championship is slated for 7 p.m. at SHS.
