Andalusia’s baseball team didn’t get off to the best start in area action against Headland on Saturday.
The Bulldogs allowed 22 walks as the Rams won 15-3 in the first game and 9-4 in the second game of the doubleheader.
“We didn’t play very well,” AHS coach Jonathan Rasberry said. “That’s what it boils down to.
“When you walk 22 people, just like last year, it’s hard to win a ball game. We didn’t execute,” he said. “We played awful. You can’t win ball games when you play that bad.”
In game one, Zach Ward, Judd Rogers, Daniel Henderson, Hunter Earnest and Michael McCalman had one hit each to lead AHS.
In game two, Quinton Maddox led the Bulldogs and went 2-for-3. Henderson and McCalman added one hit each.
Andalusia (10-6, 0-2 in Class 4A, Area 3) will host Wicksburg today at 5 p.m. in a regular season contest.
