3 locals injured in auto crash

Three Andalusia residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Enterprise Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on Alabama Hwy 134, five miles west of Enterprise.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Jonathan Demonte McCauley, 29, of LaGrange, Ga., was traveling west in a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu when he traveled off the roadway and collided with a 2009 Pontiac G6 that was traveling east.

The driver of the G6, Corey Jarrel Johnson, 22, of Andalusia, and his passenger Amanda Jo Peacock, 25, of Andalusia, were injured and transported to the critical care unit at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Another passenger, 3-year-old Kaylen Peacock of Andalusia, was transported to a pediatric intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

McCauley was transported to Enterprise Medical Center for injury treatment.

Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the accident.
