Andalusia’s golf team shot one of its lowest rounds in four years Tuesday at Troy Country Club, shooting a 305 to win the round.

“They just played real well,” AHS coach Marshall Locke said. “They’ve been playing real well all year. Everybody scored, and it just worked out.

“We had times where we could’ve shot even lower than that,” he said. “I was proud of them.”

Locke said his top three – Josh Atkinson, Hunter Dendy and Grayson Gantt – have been shooting at or near par this season.

“I’ve been pleased with their effort,” he said.

Atkinson shot a 73; Dendy shot a 75; and Gantt shot a 77 in Tuesday’s round.

Additionally, Brady Sharpe and Connor Dayton have been giving the Bulldogs rounds in the lower to mid 80s, Locke said.

Sharpe shot an 80; and Dayton shot an 83 for the Bulldogs at Troy.

Andalusia will be back in action after spring break on April 9 at home.

Locke said he encouraged the team to keep practicing during the break because soon after, sectionals begin.
