Pleasant Home moved up to No. 8 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Class 1A softball poll that was released today.

The Lady Eagles improved to 14-4 after their 11-1 area win over Brantley on Tuesday night.

Pleasant Home beat Class 4A Straughn two times on Saturday night to win the eighth annual Kirsten L. Dean Memorial Softball Tournament.

In the baseball portion of the poll, Andalusia (12-6) dropped out of the top 10 in Class 4A.

Opp (10-4), previously No. 7 in last week’s poll, dropped three spots to No. 10.
