Andalusia got back on the “saddle” Friday night and ran away with an 8-3 victory over Dale County on the road.

The Bulldogs had the week off for spring break, and last night’s game came at the perfect time, AHS coach Jonathan Rasberry said.

“We’ve got big area games on Monday and Tuesday (against rival Straughn),” Rasberry said. “It was good to get back in the saddle and play a game like that where we can iron out the kinks.”

With this win, Andalusia improves to 14-6 on the season. The Bulldogs will host the Tigers in a single game on Monday at 5 p.m., and then will travel visit SHS on Tuesday in a doubleheader.

Andalusia pitched four different players against DCHS, but Daniel Henderson ended up with the win on the mound, as he pitched 2.0 innings and allowed only one unearned run.

Henderson led the Bulldogs and went 2-for-4; Zach Wards went 1-for-4 with a home run; Grayson Campbell, Quinton Maddox, Michael McCalman and Tyler Raines went 1-for-3 each; Will Harrison went 2-for-3; Stewart Studstill went 1-for-1; and Ross Graham went 1-for-1.
