Taylor, Cowart to marry

Matt Taylor and Dana Cowart are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Leann Taylor, to Kale Joseph Nelson, son of Kenneth and Darlene Nelson, all of Andalusia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Judy Burchfield and the late Gerald Burchfield of Opp and Marsha Robbins and the late Joe Barnes of Opp. She is a 2009 graduate of Opp High School and is currently employed with Florala Health and Rehab.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Opal Smart and the late Carlton Smart and the late Retha Nelson and the late Alto Nelson, all of Opp.

He is a 2004 graduate of Opp High School and is currently the owner of Nelson Exterminators.

The wedding will be April 21, 2012, at 4 p.m., at The Boothe’s Pond in Opp with a reception to follow. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Wright, Edwards set April vows

Ms. Gloria Wright would like to announce the upcoming marriage of her daughter, Melissa LaShone Wright, to Lavavis Cantrell Edwards, son of the late Mittie Jewel Edwards.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Lillian Moody.

She is employed at Shaw Plant 65.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mittie B. Edwards. He is employed at MFG Alabama.

The wedding will be held at First Baptist Church at 700 East Three Notch in Andalusia at 2 p.m. on April 14, 2012. The reception will immediately follow at Shaw Recreation Building.

All family and friends are invited to attend.

 

Cross, McDaniel plan May vows

Heather Valley Cross and Justin David McDaniel have chosen May 12 as their wedding date.

The bride-elect is the daughter of daughter of Jeff and Mary Cross of Andalusia. She is the granddaughter of the Nan Powell and the late John Clay and the late Jack Allen and Charlotte Cross, all of Andalusia.

She is a 2009 graduate of Andalusia High School and a December 2011 graduate of Belhaven University where she earned a bachelor of arts in biblical studies and ministries.

The groom-to-be is the son of David and Linda McDaniel of Opp. He is the grandson of the late Clifton and Gladys McDaniel and the late Quinton and Dean Jones, all of Opp.

He is a 2007 graduate of Opp High School and is currently pursuing a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Alabama. He holds an associate degree from LBW.

The wedding will be at 11 a.m. on May 12, 2012, at Blue Lake Methodist Camp’s Lambuth Chapel. Family and friends are invited to attend.
