Ashford beat Andalusia 14-5 in area softball action on Tuesday night.

Andi Hughes went 3-for-4 to lead the Lady Bulldogs behind the plate. Jessica Park went 2-for-4.

AHS started off with four runs in the first inning, and added another run soon after.

But, errors in the third inning drained any chance to beat the Lady Yellow Jackets, AHS coach Teresa Herring said.

“That’s stuff we’ll work on at practice and we’ll clean it up,” Herring said.

On Monday night, the Lady Bulldogs also fell in area action to Headland at HHS.

Abbie Young went 2-for-2.

Andalusia will compete in Pleasant Home’s annual softball tournament this week.

The Lady Bulldogs will play Straughn at 3 p.m. tomorrow, and then against Flomaton right after at 4:30 in pool play.

The singe elimination round starts on Saturday.
