Andalusia shot a low-round of 324 on Monday to beat Straughn, Monroe County, Elba and J.U. Blacksher at the Andalusia Country Club.

Straughn shot the second-lowest round of 336; Monroe County followed with a 363; Elba shot a 390; and J.U. Blacksher shot a 399.

The medalist for the round was Straughn’s Brooks Rabren, who shot a 1-under 71 on the day.

“I think that’s probably one of the better matches the team’s played as a whole,” SHS coach Marc Tracy said. “Brooks showed a great deal of leadership, and is very consistent.”

The low man for the Bulldogs was Josh Atkinson, who shot a 74 in his round.

AHS coach Marshall Locke said the team scoring wasn’t up to par.

“We’re going to get back to work this week,” Locke said. “We’re trying to get ready for sectionals. Our goal is to try to shoot better and get ready for sectionals, and hopefully make a run at it for state.”

Sectionals are April 30 at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
