Florala blew an 11-0 lead against Geneva County as the Bulldogs scored 13 unanswered runs to beat the Wildcats 13-11 on Thursday night to knock FHS out of the playoff hunt.

FHS coach Bubba Nall said he wasn’t going to “throw the team under the bus,” but had nothing but positive things to say about the Wildcats.

“We just came apart,” Nall said. “We’ve had one of those years where we’ve been up and down a little bit with some close ball games thrown in there.

“I’m proud of how our kids handled the game,” he said.

Florala (8-7) still has one more game to end the season on a high note. The Wildcats will face Red Level on Monday.

“It’s been one of those years,” Nall said. “We’ve been close, but couldn’t get over the hump.”

Out of the seven losses, four were one-run losses and two were to two runs, Nall said.
