More vendors needed for 3NM

There is still time to become a vendor at AJWC’s third annual Three Notch Market, and to buy tickets for the concert featuring Little Big Town that will follow.
The event is shaping up to be one of the largest put on by the Andalusia Junior Women’s Club, said member Katie King. It will be held on Sat., May 5, at Springdale from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
“This is going to be a very fun day,” King said. “Our hope is that people will come out for lunch, shop and then come back for the concert.”
County music group Little Big Town is set to close the day. Advance tickets are $10, but will be $15 on the day of the concert, she said.
“That’s really a great value, too,” King said of the price. “You try to see them at another venue, and I would put those tickets at $40 or more each. At our price, you can take a family of four for $40.”
Proceeds from the event go back into Covington County for scholarships and various children’s programs, she said.
Other activities of the day will include a 5K race that morning and various other entertainment throughout the day. Coolers are not allowed, but food and beverages will be available for sale that day.
At present, there are 60 vendors set to participate. King’s goal is 100.
“We want to see the entire front lawn of Springdale covered in tents,” she said. “Right now, we have a variety of fine artists and craftsmen to jewelry and children’s clothing booths.
“The great thing about this event is it is a true showcase for the art community,” she said. “We have such a rich culture in the south, and in Andalusia, and people don’t know that about Andalusia.
“This is one of the ways we can exemplify that culture and celebrate it,” she said of the group’s spring fundraiser. “People who work in garage at night at their craft can get the recognition they deserve. It really opens people’s eyes to the talent that these artists have.”
Vendor spots are $60 and can be purchased online at ajwcthreenotchmarket.webs.com.
Concert tickets are available on the site, from any AJWC member or at Harold’s Furniture, CCB and at the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce.
