EDITH FAYE LAMBERT

Edith Faye Lambert, 85, of Red Level, passed away on Sat., April 14, 2012, in a Mississippi nursing home.

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

 

PATRICIA EILEEN BROOKS NICHOLS

Patricia Eileen Brooks Nichols, 70, of Red Level, died Wed., April 11, 2012, at her residence.

After graduating from Andalusia High School, “Pat” went to Atlanta to live her dream of going to modeling school on Peachtree Street. She then married, moved to Birmingham, had one daughter and worked for NBC television.

In the 1980s, she moved back home to Andalusia. She was a very special “nana” to her four grandchildren and a loving mom. She will be missed greatly, but all know she is in a much better place with the Lord.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who were there for her in so many ways, and a very special thank you goes to Doc and Cindy Oglesby and Elaine Oglesby Jennings, who have been like family.

No services are scheduled.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Hall of Branson, Mo.; her grandchildren, Tony, Tori, Kiley and Bailey; a brother, James Brooks of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.,; and two nephews.

MELINDA RENEE  WEAVER LANDRETH

Melinda Renee Weaver Landreth, 38, of Andalusia, died Mon., April 16, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, Tues., April 17, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brent Cook officiating, and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Landreth of Andalusia; her daughter, Kayla Alessandra Landreth; her mother, Vassie Weaver Gilliland; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Kaye and Lavone Ziglar and Earlene and Walter Howell; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Kristina Weaver Jr. and Christopher E. and Kym Weaver, all of Andalusia.

Pallbearers will be Lavon Ziglar, Walter Howell, Jeremy Weaver, Steven Howell, Billy Don Weaver, Ray Bush and Donnie Weaver.

EDWARD LEE BLOCKER

Edward Lee Blocker, 81, of Andalusia, died Sat., April 14, 2012, in the Shoal Creek Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Tues., April 17, from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Carroll Parker and Eugene Meadows will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home in Opp directing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Green Blocker; daughter, Barbara Green (Davis) Thurman; sons, Delbert (Donna) Blocker, Nathan Blocker, James (Nell) Green and Jim (Mickey) Green; brothers, Jay L. (Evelyn) Blocker and Buddy Blocker; sisters, Frankie Luschen, Hazel (Bill) McLain and Onell (Gerald) Anderson; and nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Johnsie Blocker; son, Kent Blocker; daughter, Carolyn Green Turner; his first wife, Vernell Blocker; brothers, Carl Blocker, Quitman Blocker and Wilburn Blocker; and sisters, Ruth Spivey and Lucille Lasiter.

DALTON WEST

Isa Elizabeth Dalton West, 87, of Dozier, formerly of the Epperson Community, Coker Creek, Tenn., passed away Friday morning, April 13, 2012, at home.

Funeral services were held Sun., April 15, at 8 p.m., at Biereley-Hale Chapel in Tellico Plains, Tenn., with interment following on Mon., April 14, at 11 a.m., in Epperson Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Joe and Tina West Dalton and was preceded in death by infant daughter, Hazel Dottie West.

She is survived by her husband of 70-plus years, Hobert West; her children and spouses, Elizabeth Corron of Akron, Ohio, Gilda and Newbert Hamby of Epperson, and Linda and Ron Thompson, Rick and Harriett West, all of Andalusia, Hal and Sandy West of Akron, Ohio, and Nick West, of Dozier; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
