2 injured in morning wreck

Two people were injured in an early morning accident between a vehicle and a car near Opp Monday.
According to Alabama State Troopers, two vehicles – a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2004 Dodge Intrepid – collided on the U.S. Hwy. 84 bypass near Horn Hill around 6:50 a.m.
According to witness reports, the car was attempting to cross the bypass when the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle, Steve Mills, 53, of Daleville, was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The status of Mills’ condition was unavailable when The Star-News went to print.
The driver of the car, Cameron Hooks, 17, of Opp, was taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and released.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
