Harrelson throws 2-hitter in 4-1 win

Opp’s Anna Harrelson pitched a two-hitter to help lead the Lady Bobcats to a 4-1 victory over Kinston on Tuesday night.

Kinston took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, but couldn’t come back as Harrelson went on to pitch the complete game, striking out three batters, walking zero and giving up no earned runs.

Additionally, Harrelson got two hits to lead OHS.

Oppp came back in the fourth inning to score two runs.

Octavia Thompson and Beth Anne Spurlin hit singles to get two on base.

Erica Ladson hit a squeeze bunt to score Thompson, and then Cayla Hughes hit a sac-fly to score Spurlin to give OHS a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Opp’s Hannah Lee, who was a pinch hitter, doubled and then later scored on a single by Harrelson. Tori Reisnour then grounded to scored Harrelson.

Opp plays Luverne at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the start of the Class 3A, Area 2 tournament at Geneva.
