Work is “on schedule” for Andalusia High School’s more than $2 million physical education facility, officials said Friday.

“It should be done in August – right on target,” Andalusia City Schools superintendent Ted Watson said.

Bay Shore Construction of Bay Minette has 365 days to complete the new 26,174-square foot physical education facility, a new 6,818-square foot boys’ PE facility, renovation to a 5,949-square foot girls’ PE facility, renovations to the 630-square foot shop building and miscellaneous site work on the AHS campus.

Additionally, Watson said he has lined up three architects to give plans for the new buildings that will be constructed at AHS and Andalusia Elementary School that will be used to accommodate students when the middle school closes.

“I’m looking at a presentation in June,” Watson said.
