Jackson, Odom to wed

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Manning Jackson III of Opp are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Emily Anne Jackson, to Steven Blake Odom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Irvin Odom of Andalusia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Nolen and the late Mr. James Lawrence Nolen and Mrs. Virginia Jackson and the late Mr. John M. Jackson Jr., all of Opp.

She is a 2003 graduate of Opp High School and a 2007 graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders. She was a member of the Chi-Omega sorority. She also earned a masters of science degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Montevallo in 2009. She is currently employed with the Elba City School System, where she is the speech-language pathologist.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Ms. Martha Griffin and the late Mr. G.D. Griffin and Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Elmore and the late Mr. Jim Odom, all of Andalusia.

He is a 2005 graduate of Andalusia High School and a 2011 graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a bachelor of electrical engineering degree. He is currently employed with PowerSouth Energy Cooperative as a transmission planning engineer.

The couple will be married on June 16, 2012, at 5 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Opp.
