An Andalusia man was seriously injured in a crash that claimed the life of an Auburn man Saturday.
Alabama State Troopers said William Fausz, 32, was a passenger in a 1998 Nissan pickup truck, along with Cameron Norred, 24, and the driver, Allan Smallwood, 21, of Opelika.
Norred was killed when the pickup was struck by a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by James McDonald, 28, of Opelika as it traveled north on Alabama Highway 169 in Opelika. Norred was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said Smallwood was taken to Columbus (Ga.) Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, while McDonald and Fausz were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Norred was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, Jarrett said. It is not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
