Pleasant Home and Florala will do battle tonight in their spring football game at Eagles Stadium.

The Eagles and Wildcats are playing the spring game to culminate their spring practices, which ended on Wednesday.

“We had really good numbers for us for the spring,” PHS coach Cody McCain said. “On the first day, we had 60 players for both junior varsity and varsity players. As spring practice rolled on, that went down to 45, but we’re pleased with that,” he said.

The spring game tonight will start at 6 p.m. The junior varsity squads will play in the first quarter, and the varsity squads will play the rest of the game.

McCain said one big positive is that the Eagles made it through spring “injury free.”

He said there were a few players missing because of previous injury, but “we look to get them back in the fall.”

Summer work outs start June 2, and the Eagles will go three days per week. PHS will work out the Monday of July 4, and will have the rest of the holiday week off. Then, they’ll resume the next week.
