The More than X’s and O’s Coaches Family Retreat will take place at Blue Lake Camp on June 7-10.

The camp targets coaches from the surrounding area, bringing them together with their families for a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship, Camp Director and Opp softball coach Jimmy Reeves said.

Last year’s camp saw approximately 75 people gather for some great fun, food and quality family time. Camp officials are looking to double those numbers this year for its second running, he said.

“We have about 20 families committed right now, but we have plenty of room for more campers,” Reeves said. “Although we target coaches because of their tremendous platform as leaders, anyone who desires to grow as the spiritual leader of their family may participate.

“We are excited about our feature speaker this year, Dr. Ken Smith, who served under Coach (Bobby) Bowden at Florida State for many years.”
