Wilson strikes out 11 in Twins’ 12-1 win

Twins pitcher Ethan Wilson struck out 11 batters in four innings to help lead his team to a 12-1 victory over the Pirates on Tuesday night in 11-to-12-year-old Cal Ripken action on Chick Earle Field at Johnson Park.

T. Ward scored three runs; and J.P. Thomason, Wilson, D. Courson and C. Davis scored two runs each for the Twins.

Additionally, Wilson went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

The Pirates scored one run in the first inning, and Josh Jones went 1-for-1 with a single.

In other action, the Rockies beat the Yankees, 14-4.

The Rockies scored six runs in the third inning, and the Yankees scored four runs in the first inning.

James Jones, Sebaskin Stallworth and Jeron Davis had three runs each for the Rockies.

The Indians beat the A’s 5-0, and the Braves topped the D’Backs 14-7.

D. Reeves scored two runs in the Indians’ win, and went 2-for-2 with two singles.

In 11-12 girls action, the Titans edged the Bulldogs 10-9.

The Titans trailed 9-8 going into the final inning, but squeezed two runs across for the win.

The Titans scored seven runs in the second inning. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first inning, six runs in the second and one run in the fourth inning.

The Straughn Black defeated Red Level 16-7.

Grimes went 3-for-3 with three singles for Straughn, and Williams went 2-for-3 with two singles.

Straughn scored nine runs in the first inning, and five runs in the second.

Red Level had five runs in the first inning.

In other 11-12 girls action, the Eagles beat the Bulldogs, 12-3.

In 9-10 girls action, the Sassy Slammers beat the Eagles Red, 5-1.
