JERRY CARTER

Jerry Carter, 55, of Babbie. passed away Fri., May 25, 2012, at his mother’s residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., today, Tues., May 29, at Babbie Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.

Survivors include his mother, Monette Carter of Babbie; son, Gabe Carter of Laurenburg, N.C.; daughters, Jerri Rose Carter, Jake Carter, both of Andalusia, and Megan Savage (Justin) of Gantt; brothers, Jerome Carter of Babbie and Scotty Carter (Carol) of Straughn; and grandson, Kal-el Carter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Carter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Comfort Care Hospice. Keahey Funeral Home is directing.

 

BETTY SPIKES COOK

Betty Spikes Cook, 59, of Red Level, passed away on Fri., May 25, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sun., May 27, from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brent Cook officiating. Burial followed in Pigeon Creek Baptist Memorial Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directed the arrangements.

Survivors include here husband: Billy Joe Cook Sr.; son, Billy Joe (Sheryl) Cook Jr.; daughter, Gena (Bill) Buckelew; grandsons, Trey Cook, Madison Cook, Nicky Buckelew, Jerran Williams and Jacob Williams, all of Red Level; sister, Linda (Carl) Tillery; brothers, Daniel (Shirley) Spikes and David (Shirley) Spikes, all of McKenzie, and William (Brenda) Spikes of Opp.

WILLIAM FLOYD COLVIN

William Floyd Colvin, 75, of Andalusia, died Wed., May 23, 2012, in a Dothan hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., on Wed., May 30, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Ala. Hwy. 29 South with Brother Edward Adams officiating the service.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Colvin of Andalusia; his son, Micah Floyd Colvin of Level Plains; two sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Drake of Tulsa, Okla., and Loretta and John Mosley of Montgomery; brother-in-law, William Edgar Vines of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews

LARRY RAY SANDERS

Larry Ray Sanders, 56 of Jack, went home to be with the Lord on Sun., May 27, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Wed., May 30, at Jack Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ashley Faulk, the Rev. Jimmy Eddins and the Rev. Andy Marler officiating. Special music will be provided by the Jack Assembly of God Choir and the Rev. Greg Adkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia directing.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Jack Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Brenda Sanders of Jack; daughters, Kim (Carlos) Machicote of Enterprise and Amanda (Mickey) Goodwin of Douglas, Ga.; grandchildren, Maria Machicote of Enterprise and Gracie Goodwin and Emma Rae “Sissy” Goodwin of Douglas, Ga.; his parents, Junior and Hazel Sanders of Jack; sisters and brothers-in-law,

Ann (Walter) Faulk and Rita (Alfred) Davis, all of Jack; and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Early and Eunice Sanders and Odie Lee and Nellie Cauley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Faulk, Ben Davis, Scott Henderson, Ned Bundy, Chris Jordan and Bobby Earles. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Davis, Joey Arnold and Rex Jackson.
