Five people were injured in a weekend accident on Ala. Hwy. 55 near Red Level.

Reports indicate the accident occurred at 12:20 p.m. Saturday involving a 1999 Mazda and a 2005 Nissan.

Both occupants of the Mazda – the driver, 83-year-old James Harold Mosley and 75-year-old Helen Boyd of Greenville – were injured and transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital.

The driver of the Nissan, Jason Stamer, was treated at the scene; however, the two occupants – 11-year-old Trent Stamer and 18-year-old Chelsea Kirkover, all of Staunton, Ill., were also transported to ARH.

Trooper Kevin Cook said details surrounding the accident were unavailable, as it remains under investigation.
