In a special-called board meeting a lunch Wednesday, the Opp Board of Education, the board handled more personnel issues and declared textbooks surplus.

The board took the following action:

• non-renewed a contract for Emily Ferrell, history teacher at Opp High School;

• accepted a resignation from Allison Gregory, physical education teacher at Opp Middle School and OHS basketball coach.

• transferred Hayley Sasser from OMS to OES.

• offered employment for SaRhonda Dickerson, physical education teacher at OMS and girls basketball coach; Brian Dickerson, history teacher and coach at OHS; Joseph Carter, science teacher at OMS and Wendy Donaldson, media specialist at OHS.

Additionally, the board declared nearly 50 titles of textbooks as surplus property.
