KATHERINE ADELE HENAGAN

Katherine Adele Henagan, 92, of Andalusia, died Thurs., June 7, 2012, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., June 9, at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derwood Cleland officiating. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include two sons, Grady L. (Erma) Williamson of Andalusia and Mason H. (Helen) Williamson of Edgemore, S.C.; a daughter, Wanda Sue Carter of Andalusia; seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lovece Mizell of Andalusia.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williamson, Jeff Williamson, Johnny Bruce, Mike McCabe, William L. “Buddy” Hester and Roy Allen.

 

HORACE HAMMETT

Horace Hammett, 78, of Rose Hill passed, away Tues., June 5, 2012, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Sat., June 9, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Rose Hill with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Benjy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution to charity of one’s choice.

Survivors include his son, David Horace Hammett of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Wendy (George) Simmons of Winterville, Ga., and Cendy Hammett of Tampa, Fla.; brother, James Artis Hammett of Rose Hill; sisters, Cupdian (Douglas) Eiland of Montgomery, Jo Moore and Joyce (Thermon) Grimes, all of Rose Hill; grandchildren, David Horace Hammett Jr., Brandy Thorpe, Ryan Simmons and Joshua Simmons; and four great-grandchildren.

 

KATHRYN ‘KATHY’ VICTORIA GILMORE BARTLEY

Kathryn “Kathy” Victoria Gilmore Bartley, 26, formerly of Andalusia, passed away June 6, 2012, at her residence in Wetumpka.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., June 10,, at Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev. John Hunt officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. At any other time, friends who wish to pay a condolence call may do so at the Gilmore family home, located at 230 Hilda Street, Andalusia.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy Bartley; her children, Jackson, Bella Claire and Ellie Grace Bartley; her parents, Farrell and Teresa Gilmore of Andalusia; her grandparents, Kathryn Wells and Ethel Mae Gilmore; her sisters, Katrina (Jason) Fowler of Red Level and Kanda Gilmore of Andalusia; and her sisters-in-law, Heather (George) Pettie of Gantt and Lacy Bundrick of Enterprise. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ashley Logan Moore.

 

JAMES MYRON BROGDEN

James Myron Brogden, 70, born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and a resident of Bay Minette, died Thurs., June 7, 2012, at his residence. He was raised in Andalusia. He was a banker at First National Bank of Baldwin County and worked at Southtrust/Wachovia for a number of years.

For more than 30 years, he proudly served the area through his church, the banking industry and many civic and service organizations. He leaves a legacy of dedication and commitment as a servant of his community.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Moulton Brogden; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Brogden (Chris) Wingo; two grandchildren, Libby Wingo and Corbin Wingo, all of Bay Minette; and one brother, Dr. Charles R. (Jane) Lewis of Jacksonville, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Michael Brogden.

The funeral service will be held today, Sat., June 9, at noon at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be George Noonan, Mike Norden, Joe Penn, Bob Robertson, Don Robinson and Earl Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Kiwanis Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Friends of Bay Minette Public Library, 201 W. 2nd St., Bay Minette, AL 36507, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
