Major Robert Quincey Carter

Major Robert Quincey Carter USA (Ret.), 81, of Goshen died Wed., June 13, 2012, at his home

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., June 16, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the Elam Baptist Church with Elder Scott Sexton and the Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Zane Carter of Goshen; his children, Patti Carter (Preston) Richburg of Goshen, Pamela Carter (Lewis) Hughes of Wetumpka, and Bob Carter of Andalusia; his grandchildren, Shannon Richburg (Robbie) Sharp, Elizabeth Carter (Kevin) Griffin, Jessica Hughes (Brandon) Moore, Pamela Joanna Hughes, Joseph Robert (Samantha) Richburg, Bryant M. (Ginny) Carter, David G. Carter, Luke (Pam) Hughes, and PFC Joshua Carter (Stephanie) Hughes; his great-grandchildren, Alle Zane Carter Hughes, Austin Sharp, Paige and Kayley Brunson, Reed and Sarah McKeemie, Kendall Sharp, and Brandi Sharp (Kenneth) Duncan; a sister, Catherine Carter; nieces and nephews, Joyce and AL Pennington, Harvill Sellers (Karen) Carter Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Mildred Carter, brothers Harvill Sellers Carter and Walter Cullen (Doris) Carter; an infant son, Jerry Beard Carter; and a nephew, John Carter.

Active pallbearers will be Robbie Richburg, Bryant Carter, David Carter, Brandon Moore, PFC Joshua Hughes and Byron Wilkes.

The Goshen Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.

GLENDA JEAN DEMIS

Glenda Jean Demis, 62, passed away Thurs., June 14, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Sat. June 16, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Stone Lake Garden. Visitation will begin at noon.

She is survived by daughters, Belinda Moye of Andalusia and Linda (Kevin) Delappe of Louisiana, and Margret (Coston) Harris of Andalusia; her fiancé, Jerome Stanley; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

RACHEL G. HOLLEY

Rachel G. Holley, 75, of Red Level, passed away June 13, 2012, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., June 16, at 11 a.m., at Fairmount Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Calhoun officiating with burial following in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Debbie) Holley of Andalusia, Jerry (Cecelia) Holley of Greenville, and Tony (Cindy) Holley of Red Level; two brothers, Joe A. Grantham of Andalusia and Herbert (Debbie) Grantham of Huntsville; one sister, Sue (Wayne) Wilkinson of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch “PeeWee” Jefferson Holley; her brother, Joel L. Grantham; and two sisters, Martha Strickland and Laverne Barbaree.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rodgers, Larry Sims, Brandon Sledge, James Sims, Ray Mills and Matthew Holley.

CLEVE WAYNE NORRIS

Cleve Wayne Norris, 50, died Tues., June 12, 2012, at his home in the Carolina Community.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., today, Sat., June 16, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating.

Survivors include his two sisters, Gail Norris and Dorothy Chavers; one brother, Clarence Norris, all of Andalusia; and two nephews, Thomas Yancey Chavers and Joshua Norris.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Norris, George Norris, Alex Hamby, David Everage and Claude Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Hamby and Bobby Wilcox.
