Bailey O’Ferrell of McKenzie qualified to compete in the National High School Finals Rodeo Tournament in Wyoming after finishing in the top four of her events at the Alabama High School Rodeo Association state finals on Saturday.
O’Ferrell finished in the top four of the cutting and goat tying events in the Short Go round.
Additionally, Clay Elmore of Opp also qualified, but decided not to go to nationals.
“It (the rodeo) went real well,” AHSRA president Jerry Varner said. “I want to thank everybody in the community that donated their time and money to make it possible — even the fans that came out.
“As far as we know, we’ll be back out here next year for the finals (at the Covington Center Arena),” he said.
