Ratcliffe, Carter to wed today

Miss Megan Michelle Ratcliffe and Mr. John Bence Carter Jr.

Dr. and Mrs. Alfred Anderson Ratcliffe Jr. of Albertville and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Nelson Waldrop of Guntersville announce the engagement of their daughter Megan Michelle, to John Bence Carter Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bence Carter of Enterprise.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Georgia Strain Adams of Birmingham, the late Carlos Lloyd Adams of Moody and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Latta Waldrop of Ensley.

She is a 2001 graduate of Albertville High School. She attended the University of Alabama, where she was vice-president of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and earned a degree in 2004 in management. She is currently employed by Signature Homes in Birmingham as a new home consultant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Alieze Selsor Capell of Fairhope and the late Arthur Abernathy Capell Jr. of Mt. Vernon and Loraine Powell Carter and the late Elton Eugene Carter of Andalusia. He attended Birmingham Southern College, where he was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and graduated in 2007 with a degree in biology. He is employed with Red Mountain Technologies as a national accounts manager.

The wedding will be an event today, Sat., June 23, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
