Defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions and former Auburn University stand out Nick Fairley entered not-guilty pleas on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude police, according to a report from the Press-Register.

Fairley, 24, did not make an appearance at court yesterday morning in Mobile County District Court for his scheduled arraignment, according to the same report, citing his lawyer, Sid Harrell.

On May 27, Fairley was arrested in the second traffic violation field against him in as many months.

Fairley passed a state trooper going near 100 miles per hour and later refused to yield to emergency lights and siren, the report said.

Traffic citations of reckless driving, no proof of insurance and open container were also issued.
