JOE ROBBINS

Joe Robbins, 65, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sat., June 30, 2012.

He was born in Andalusia to Joseph Riley and Ethel Robbins. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a carpenter by trade. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George D. Robbins; and his sister, Glenda Robbins Howell.

Survivors include his sons, Christopher L. Robbins and Elisha C. Robbins, both of Andalusia; two brothers, Bob Robbins of Columbus, Ind., and John Robbins of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Rebecca Mosley of Panama City, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

A graveside celebration of life ceremony will begin at 3 p.m., today, Tues., July 3, at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Andalusia with Kent-Forest Lawn directing.

 

GENE GILLEY

Gene Gilley, 76, of Andalusia, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be held today, Tues., July 3, at 11 a.m., from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating and interment following in Stone Lake Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Gilley of Andalusia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Roger Hammonds of Andalusia and Patty and Scott Powell of Georgia; grandson, Erik (Laren) Hammonds; great-grandson, Matthew Hammonds, both of Northport; two brothers, Murray and Barbara Gilley of Dothan and Larry and Becky Gilley of Bellwood; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Wesley Garney of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews.

BENJAMIN ARNOLD GRISSETT

Benjamin Arnold Grissett, 82, of Andalusia, passed away July 1, 2012.

Funeral services will be held today, Tues., July 3, at 2 p.m., from the Liberty Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Boles and the Rev. Fred Kelley officiating. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth D. Grissett; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Arnold (Montez) Grissett and Stephen (Donna) Grissett, all of Andalusia; grandchildren, Benjamin Grissett, Adam Grissett, Rebecca Hadiau, Michael James Grissett and Brian Andrew Grissett; great-grandchildren, Nadia Grissett and Nathan Grissett; brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Zelda) Grissett of Andalusia, Lamar (Rosalyn) Grissett of Prattville, Bobby (Betty) Grissett of Gulf Shores and Ronnie (Barbara) Grissett of Prattville; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynette (Sam) Adams of De Funiak Springs, Fla., and Mary (William) Capps of Clanton.

Pallbearers will be Todd Dozier, Lamar Dozier, Adam Grissett, Michael Grissett, Brian Grissett, Junior Dozier, Jamie Dozier and Joe Dozier.

 

IRENE COBERLY JOHNSON

Irene Coberly Johnson 82, a resident of the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center, died Sat., June 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., July 5, at 3:30 p.m., from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Fri., June 6, at 10 a.m., in the Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Level.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a former resident of Red Level and Tampa, Fla. She loved to garden, cook, sew, fish, listen to music and to read.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Sims (Paul) Krug, Connie Sims and Martha Sims; a son, Gary (Sheila) Sims; her brothers, James (Mary Ann) Glidwell and Douglas Glidwell; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Joyce Sims; her mother, Myrtle Glidwell; her father, Branton Coberly; a sister, Betty Jo Ellis; and a brother, Cecil Coberly.
