A Red Level woman is fighting for her life after being critically injured during a sport utility vehicle accident south of Andalusia Saturday.

Rona Edson, who was operating the UTV, and two others on a separate ATV, were riding on a hunting property south of Andalusia near County Road 34 when the accident occurred.

Exact circumstances surrounding the accident were not immediately clear, but family members reported that Edson suffered severe internal bleeding after the UTV rolled over on her. Edson was airlifted to a Pensacola, Fla., hospital, where medical personnel worked to stop the bleeding. As of Monday, family reported that Edson had been again airlifted, this time to a Gainsville, Fla., trauma center.

The other two individuals involved in the accident were treated at the Andalusia Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
