Opp Police are searching for two men wanted in an early morning robbery of a downtown convenience store.
Shortly before 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Opp Exxon after the clerk on duty reported that he had been robbed and was injured, OPD officials said.
Police reports show that the victim told investigators that a white male and a black male purchased gas before the attack, and less than 10 minutes later the white male returned on foot and robbed the clerk by hitting him in his head with a weapon.
An undisclosed amount of cash and cash register were stolen during the robbery.
OPD say the suspects were last seen traveling in a two-tone, brown or tan passenger van.
The victim was transported to Mizell Memorial Hospital for injuries.
Anyone with info is asked to call the OPD at 493-4511.
