FRANK FEACHEN

Frank Feachen, 91, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., July 3, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., July 7, at 10:30 a.m., at Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Stewart and the Rev. Leroy Cole officiating. Special music will be provided by soloist Gayle Weaver and pianist Jane Grady. Interment will be in the Stone Lake Gardens. Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home two hours prior to the service.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Drusilla “Dru” Feachen of Andalusia; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Gayla Feachen of Dallas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Mary Feachen of Belmont, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Vivian (Dick) Bowen of Andalusia; brother-in-law, Joe (Laquette) Stricklin of Brewton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Barton, Ohio, on April 7, 1921, and later moved to Andalusia, where he made his home for 57 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother and a faithful friend to many. During his lifetime, he enjoyed traveling and especially took pride in his vegetable gardens. The generosity of his harvests was enjoyed by many friends and neighbors. He enjoyed life and was a big tease who had a delightful sense of humor. He truly “loved his neighbor” and performed many, many unheralded acts of kindness for those in need.

He was a faithful, longtime member of the West Highland Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years during World War II and following based at Eglin Field, Fla. He retired from Chevron after 39 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Frankie Mae Newton; his parents, Adam and Suzanne Feachen; two brothers; and six sisters.

Pallbearers will be Mark Stricklin, Tim Stricklin, Jonathon Strickland, Wayne Hartin, Otis Reynolds and Wade Rogers.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Instead, the family asks that memorials may be made to the West Highland Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice.

 

RONA EDSON

Rona Edson, 40, of Red Level passed away on Tues., July 3, 2012, in a Florida hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Sun., July 8, at 2 p.m., from the Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Parker, the Rev. Durwood Cleland and the Rev. Richard Moss officiating. Interment will be in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Clay Anthony Stacks; her daughter, Cayleigh Michelle Stacks; her parents, Ronnie and Ruth Edson; her brother and sister-in-law, Randy L. and Ashley Edson; her sister, Robin K. Anderson, all of Red Level; two nephews, Ethan Edson and Mason Anderson; two nieces, Emily Edson and Emma Grace Anderson; and a special friend, Mark Saxon of Mobile.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Anthony Stacks.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Jeter, Chuck Jeter, Monty Jeter, Paul Jeter, Donnie Jeter and Mike Rowell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Phillips, Sabin Shreve and Catee Moss.

 

LONZIE GAINES

Lonzie Gaines, 82, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., July 5, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Tues, July 10, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating. Music will be provided by Darby Knowles. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Gaines; son, Don Gaines, both of Andalusia; daughters, Linda Gaines of Angola, N.Y., and Sally Gaines (Kirk Gromoll) of Andalusia; special friend, Richard Ayers Sr.; grandchildren, Alan (Becky) Leddon, James (Tonya) Leddon, Robert (Kerry) Leddon, Richard (Milinda) Ayers, Angelia Draycott and Amanda Ayers; and numerous great grandchildren.
