ROBERT NELSON MOSELEY

Robert Nelson Moseley, 77, passed away at his residence in Florala Sun., July 8, 2012, following a lingering illness.

A native of Ozark, he was the son of James Nelson Moseley and Addie Mae Lowry Moseley, who preceeded him in death.

He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Auburn University. He worked as an educator for 42 years, serving 15 years at Covington County High School, later Florala High School; worked in the Covington County School System for 25 years; and was superintendent of the Andalusia School System for two years.

He served 10 years in the Alabama National Guard as a first lieutenant and was also a member of the Kiwanis Club in Andalusia.

He enjoyed hunting and was a student of the game of golf, excelling not only at playing, but also in coaching others to improve their games.

He attended the First Baptist Church of Florala.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Rita Lancaster Moseley of Florala; son, Terry Moseley of Crestview, Fla.; two daughters, Sonya (Jerry) Looney of Brentwood, Tenn., and Ronda (Steven) Eppinger of Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Joy Looney and Segen Eppinger.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tues., July 10, at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Britton and the Rev. Charlie Lennard officiating. Interment followed in the Florala Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Comfort Hospice or Florala First Baptist Church elevator fund.
