As the saying goes, it’s never too early to start planning a big event, and that’s why the Opp Downtown Redevelopment Authority is putting out a call for vendors for its Opp Fest event.

“We are hoping to make this year’s Opp Fest the biggest yet,” said Emilee Gage of the DRA.

The annual festival is set for Oct. 27, in downtown Opp.

“Families can walk the streets of downtown, while exploring what Opp Fest has to offer: arts and crafts, food, musical entertainment, children’s activities and a car show,” Gage said.

The festival is set up along Main Street, Covington Avenue and Hart Avenue.

Each year there are vendors ranging from food to novelties to games.

The nearly 100 vendors spots fill up quickly, she said.
