This Fri., Aug. 17, at 4:30 p.m. is the deadline to register to vote in upcoming municipal elections.

The registration process can be completed at the Covington County Board of Registrars’ office, located in the county administration building. Alternately, forms are available at the probate judge’s office, the public library, the department of human resources and the health department, and can be mailed to the registrars’ office.

Those wishing to vote absentee should request ballots from the clerk of the municipality in which they reside. The last day to vote absentee at city hall is Aug. 23. Those who request absentee ballots by mail must have them postmarked no later than Aug. 27, and the ballots must be received by noon on election day, Tues., Aug. 28.
