The sounds of John Denver will be heard in Opp in the coming weeks, as John Denver Off The Record takes stage.

Most folks remember singing along to “Thank God I’m a Country Boy,” “Take Me Home Country Roads” or “Rocky Mountain High.”

And Denver’s lead guitarist Steve Weisberg, will take the stage at Lightered Knot Landin’, the Opp Cultural Arts Council’s performing arts center, on Thurs., Sept. 6, at 7 p.m.

“Steve’s story-telling of the John Denver days literally sent chills down my spine,” said organizer Wes Laird of the OCAC. “I felt as if I was here with Steve, John and Annie.”

Tickets are $20 and are available on a first come, first serve basis at Southern Independent Bank in Opp, Laird, Baker and Blackstock, and at the OCAC.
