Crew members with Richard Childress Racing were suspended by NASCAR on Wednesday.

The reason why the governing body suspended the members was for “monkeying around with a frame rails on their Chevy,” a story from www.al.com reports.

Crew chief Slugger Labbe, car chief Crag Smokstad and crew member Grant Hutchens were suspended until Oct. 3, which covers a six-race span. They will not return until Talladega, the story said.

Additionally, each was put on probation until the end of the year.

The story said that Labbe was also fined $100,000 and driver Paul Menard was docked 25 points.

The violations were found during a post-race inspection at Michigan.
