Wilbur Williams removes a marijuana plant from a controlled inside grow.

A search warrant executed in the Straughn community late Tuesday yielded 47 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $112,000.

Micah Ryder, 29, of 27979 Nalls Rd. was charged in the case.

Andalusia Police Chief Wilbur Williams said officers in his department assisted the APD’s two representatives on the Drug Task Force.

“We found an elaborate growth system with plants being grown inside and out,” Williams said.

He said the system included air conditioning, timed lighting and circulating air.

Williams said it is believed the seeds for these plants came from the Netherlands and cost $13 each.
