A short-lived rain shower broke out in Andalusia around 3 p.m. Wednesday, one of the only instances in Covington County of Hurricane Isaac, a storm that sent local residents running to local retailers to stock up on supplies earlier this week.

Star-News’ Facebook friends had various reports of rain throughout the day.

Hannah Moore said it rained in Rose Hill for “about five minutes real hard and then nothing.”

Amy Migliaccio in Red Level reported three minutes of hard rain, and Lisa Chance reported a short rain in the South community.

Babbie residents Carla Rogers and Lesia Byrd had similar reports.

Kaytreen Ziglar reported it was “raining pretty hard here in the Harmony Community with a little strong wind.”

Earline Manning reported that Paxton, Fla., neighbors just across the state line had “a little shower off and on” Wednesday afternoon.

Star-News’ West Alabama friend Lee Peacock said he had 0.15 inches of rain in his backyard rain gauge in Excel in Monroe County.

“Isaac was a monster,” he quipped.
