Latasha “Tot” English, 31, of Jack, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Sept. 1, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Wed., Sept. 5, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Morrow and the Rev. Jim Powell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Ben English; daughter, Katie English; parents, Ricky and Tammy Lawson; grandmother, Clara Little; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kami and Dan English, Krissie Mitchell and Lisa and Stephen Ward; brother, T.J. LISA BECK
Lisa Beck, 59, of the Antioch Community, passed away Sat., Sept. 1, 2012, at a Dothan hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Wed., Sept. 5, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derwood Cleland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Keahey Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 20, 1953, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Joe and Clara (Gaddy) Davis, she was raised in Hollywood, Fla., and graduated in 1971 from MacArthur High School in Hollywood, Fla., and then married the love of her life, William L. Beck, on June 3, 1972.
She most recently worked at Shaw Industries. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister whose smile and sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, Bill Beck; her sons, Jason Beck and Eric Beck; her siblings, Joseph Donald Davis (Carmen) of Andalusia, Dina Davis Gonzalez (Kristina) of Huntsville and David Winston Davis of Texas; four grandchildren; one uncle, Donald Ray Davis of Dozier; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Winston Davis and Clara Mae (Gaddy) Davis.

TOM POWELL
Tom Powell, 72, of the Enon Community, died Sun., Sept. 2, 2012, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., from the Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Perry officiating and eulogy given by Ken Odom. Interment will follow in the Enon Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home tonight at 6 and at the church 30 minutes prior to service.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mildred Powell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Powell and Dale Sanders of Birmingham, LaTricia Powell and Cameron Isbell and LaDonna Powell and Brandon Isbell, all of Leighton; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Ivey Powell III and wife, Lisa, of Pike Road; seven grandchildren, Judd Powell, Betsy Powell, Logan Sanders, Ivey Isbell, Cam Isbell, Cash Isbell and Braidy Isbell; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlos and Lynda Powell, Glenn and Barbara Powell and Paul and Margaret Powell, all of the Enon Community; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born and raised on the Powell family farm and spent his entire life there working as a cattleman.
He was a lifelong member of Enon Baptist Church and served as a deacon and church treasurer. He was very active in the cattle industry and in the promotion of cattle and agriculture in Alabama and the nation.
He was a member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the Covington County Cattleman’s Association and in the past had served as its president.
He was a member of the Beef Cattleman’s Improvement Association, the Alabama and American Simmental Associations, a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Paint Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association, a past board member of the Opp Farmers Co-Op, a member of the Covington County Farmer’s Federation and a member and former officer of the Covington County Sheriff’s Posse.
In 1986, he received an agricultural leadership award for his restoration of and involvement in the Covington County 4-H and FFA Club calf program. In 2003, he and his family were named the Alabama Farm Family of the Year.
Pallbearers will be Dale Sanders, Cameron Isbell, Brandon Isbell, Judd Powell, Tim Powell and Al Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Powell, Eddie Powell, Cory Powell, Eugene Powell and Chris Powell.

Kostas Law, 75, of Red Level, passed away Tues., Sept. 4, 2012, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m., on Thurs., Sept. 6, at Gorum Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Gorum Law; son, William Kostas Law Jr., both of Red Level; daughters, Petri (Willie) Wynn of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Sonia Lee of Andalusia; grandson, Michael Lee of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

MIKE MCCLELLAND
Mike McClellan, 63, of Red Level, passed away Sat., Sept. 1, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 6, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends tonight at Keahey Funeral Home from 6 to 8.
Survivors include his wife, Carol McClellan of Red Level sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew Michael McClellan and Hansi Jai McClellan and LeAnn Atkins; three daughters, Toni Michelle McClellan of Opp, Sloan Aisha McClellan and Angelia Rose McClellan; stepbrothers, Brett McClellan, Brian McClellan and Henry McClellan; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Coursey, and a brother, James Edward McClellan.

FLARRIE BELL BLACK RALEY
Flarrie Bell Black Raley, 105, of Andalusia, died Sun., Sept. 2, 2012, in the Andalusia hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 6, at the Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Wilkinson officiating and burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include her sister, Lorraine Duffle of Luverne, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Raley; her parents, John Hillery Black and Alice Cobb Black; brothers, Roy, J.D., Alvie, William Edward, Rudolph and Leo Black; and sisters, Ruby Lucille, Cumie, Merle, Vera Lee and Eula Mae.

ROBERT ‘BOB’ EDWIN VELTEN JR.
Robert “Bob” Edwin Velten Jr., 55, died on Aug. 22, 2012, in Houston, Texas.
Surviving are his wife, Vickie Tompkins Velten; two sons, Benjamin (Justine) Velten and Luke Velten; his parents, Robert and Agnes Velten; his sister, Valerie Kaiser (Jordan); his brother, William Velten (Elizabeth); his mother-in-law, Syble Tompkins; his brother-in-law, Wayne Tompkins; sister-in-law, Sandra Owens (R.D.); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held at Metropolitan Baptist Church on Aug. 25.
He spent his childhood and youth in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1976 before attending and graduating from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1979 and a master’s in 1980. He was employed by ExxonMobil for 31 years before retiring in March 2012. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family, the Lord Jesus, and his many friends. He faithfully served the Lord as a deacon and in many other capacities at Metropolitan Baptist Church for many years. He was a quiet, gentle man, and he will be deeply missed.

James Tommy Saunders, 70, of Gantt, died Fri., Aug. 31, 2012, in a Mobile hospital.
Funeral services were held on Sun., Sept. 2, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Clark officiating and interment following in Sweetwater Cemetery in the Fleeta Community.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathleen Saunders of Crestview, Fla.; his grandchildren, Amy and Greg Bondurant of Andalusia and Lisa Saunders of Troy; a great-granddaughter, Bailey Bondurant of Andalusia; two step-grandchildren, Justin Stanford of San Diego and Ciara Garrett of Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Saunders of Montgomery.

MARGARET ALICE HALL PATTERSON
Margaret Alice Hall Patterson, 83, of Andalusia, died Sat., Sept. 1, 2012, in the Andalusia Manor.
She was born on March 25, 1929, in Canton, Ohio, to Leslie and Anna Hall. She and her family moved to Florida when she was 1-year-old, and she later attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. She accepted employment with Armco Steel in Middleton, Ohio.
On May 13, 1966, she married the Rev. Edwin Patterson while living in Middleton, and afterwards, the couple moved to Andalusia where he served as a Baptist minister.
Graveside services were held Tues., Sept. 4, at the Bethany Cemetery in Heath with the Rev. Richard Pass officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Chalres Cobb, Larry Holmes, Ray Lambert, Mario Mesa, Mickey Davis and Hilton Bozeman.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman Lew and Mildred Hall of Orange, Calif., and Richard Lee and Nancy Hall of Christianburg, Va.; her nieces, Carol, Alice, Nancy, Karen and Debra, and several great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Edwin Patterson, who died on March 12, 2012.
