SGT. MAJOR (RET.) LISTER REEVES
Sgt. Major (Ret.) Lister H. Reeves, 79, of Enterprise, died Fri., Sept. 7, 2012.
Funeral services will be held today, Tues., Sept. 12, at First Baptist Church Enterprise with the Rev. Sonny Moore and the Rev. Derek Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 N. Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1932, to Harold and Olene Reeves.
He served in the U.S. Army for 32 years. He also served in the Korean War, along with two tours in the Vietnam War. During his military service, he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, among many other medals. Sgt. Major “Pops” Reeves was a member of the First Baptist Church for 35 years. He will always be remembered for his love of Alabama football – “Roll Tide.”
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Era Castleberry Reeves of Enterprise; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Ronnie “Sheriff” Fulgham of Northport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lister H. Jr. and Shawn Reeves of Enterprise and Christopher Michael and Amy Reeves of Dothan; three brothers, Rogerl Reeves and Jerry Reeves, both of Andalusia, and J.R. Reeves of Texas; two sisters, Elaine Lucas of McKenzie and JoAnn Northcutt of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Crystal Lyneete Farley (Christopher) of Northport, Corey Michael Reeves and Christopher Gage Reeves, both of Dothan; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Lee Farley and Christopher Devyn Farley, both of Northport.

JIM TUCKER
Jim Tucker, 75, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Sept. 9, 2012, in the local hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Sat., Sept. 16, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Fred Karthaus and the Rev. Richard Pass officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Tucker of Andalusia; stepsons, Kim Kilgore of Destin, Fla., and Greg (Kim) Kilgore of Lavonia, Ga.; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Kilgore, Zack Burnette, Brady Burnette, Bryson Burnette, all of Lavonia, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Tucker, in 1997.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossover Ministry, First Baptist Church of Andalusia and Comfort Care Hospice.

JIMMIE WHITEHURST PITTS
Jimmie Whitehurst Pitts, 92, of Gantt, died Fri., Sept. 7, 2012, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., Sept. 12, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating and burial following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home two hours prior to the service.
Survivors include her sister, Margaret Jones of South Carolina; her nephew, James Whitehurst; and great-nephews, Don (Teresa) Whitehurst and Ron (Missy) Whitehurst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve Pitts; her brothers, James H. Whitehurst, Walter M. Whitehurst, Paul Q. Whitehurst, Huey G. Whitehurst, Artis Whitehurst; and sister, Azrie Whitehurst Daughtry.

MARIE POWELL FUQUA
Marie Powell Fuqua, 79, of Andalusia, died Fri., Sept. 7, 2012, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital.
Funeral services were held Mon., Sept. 10, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Stewart officiating and burial following in Enon Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Mack Fuqua; her daughters, Betty Faye Pickron and Donna Marie Simmons; her son, John Allen Powell; stepson, Roger Fuqua, all of Andalusia; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Ballard of Andalusia; and brother, Joseph Billy Taylor of Wewahitchka, Fla.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Retha Jo Morgan, and son, Marlin Alvin Powell.

SYBLE MITCHELL DOROUGH
Syble Mitchell Dorough, 89, of Dozier passed away Thurs., Sept. 6, 2012, in the Opp nursing facility.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sun., Sept. 9, at Keahey Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Grissett officiating. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include five sons, Willie Ray Mitchell of Lownsboro, John Thomas Mitchell of Clanton, Zollie (Betty) Mitchell of Dozier, Jerry W. (Linda) Mitchell of Gordon and Bobby Jack Mitchell of Opp; daughter, Edna Moss of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Jessie Berry of Dozier and Jimmy (Janel) Berry of Baton Rouge, La.; sisters, Lillie Mae Gay of Jay, Fla., Peggy Lewandowski of Zepher Hills, Fla., and Glenda (Judd) Granger of Andalusia; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mitchell; son, Bobby Mitchell, and daughter, Nell Merrill.
