The owner of an Airport Road business is facing a capital murder charge in the Thursday death of a Butler County man.

Shelton L. Foster, 59, is accused of murdering 48-year-old Donnie Earl Bone in an area off Old Drag Strip Road sometime Thursday.

A hunter found Bone’s body under a tarp shortly before 8 p.m. Law enforcement struggled to identify the body until Bone’s family reported him missing around 3 a.m. Friday morning.

Police are still awaiting autopsy results before releasing how Bone was killed; however, Sheriff Dennis Meeks said previously the incident “was something that happened between two people.”

Online databases list Foster as the owner of Cobra & Mystery LLC., the site where investigators found Bone’s truck abandoned early Friday morning.

Foster could face the death penalty, or life in prison, if convicted of the Class A felony.

He is currently being held in the Covington County Jail without bond.

Meeks said the Covington County Sheriff’s Office was able to solve the case thanks to the assistance of the Andalusia and Opp police departments, the Alabama Beverage Control, the Alabama State Troopers, the district attorney’s office and the sheriff’s posse and reserve deputies.
